Option One: Social media is alive and well in business and everyday life and not going away any time soon. The use of “Twitter” posts almost daily from the White House are a constant source of controversy and something I am sure those close to Trump wish he would stop doing. Does an employer have a right to monitor employee social media accounts and use any information posted or displayed against them? Why or why not? Attached are a few humorous examples of the way social media has saturated our society, especially in the Generation “X”, “Y”, and “Millennial groups.

Option Two: A student in a previous class responded to this Discussion Board assignment with the following comments: ” I agree no company, whether big or small, should have to pay employees to be ineffective, but there is a new workforce out there who works harder on looking busy than really being busy or productive. I can’t count how many excessive restroom breaks with cell phones or hiding cell phones next to work stations goes on every day. I have caught people text or take phone calls during work hours, and all they can say is sorry and it was important. These activities kill production, planning and on time delivery daily in manufacturing facilities.” A classmate responded to him saying the company should have a policy “no cell phones during work hours” and have each employee check their phone in to be held except for lunch periods and employee breaks and then checked back in.

Please comment and explain your thoughts on the policy of checking phones in and out and how you would react if your employer implemented the same policy.

Draft Executive Summary

Submit your revised draft Executive Summary (the one that you first developed for peer review in Week 6 and then modified) in the appropriate assignment folder. This document must

(1) address the problem,

(2) provide simple background,

(3) offer your proposed solution, and

(4) list the specific steps required for the decision maker to take to implement your solution. Headings would most likely assist the reader.

Grading criteria:

  • In correct format with “EXECUTIVE SUMMARY” as title (no memo or report headers, etc., needed)
  • Addresses a specific REAL problem in your workplace, school, church, region, or volunteer
  • Identifies (a) the Problem and (b) impact of Problem; and proposes (c) a Solution and (d) Steps that decision maker must take to implement that Solution.
  • At least one-half page single-spaced (around 300 words or so)
  • Does not use “we” or “our” wording to identify research or recommendations (which would mask the amount of work/effort done by the writer alone)
  • Does NOT tell the reader who the decision maker is (because the reader IS the decision maker)
  • Wording makes it obvious that the Executive Summary is addressed to the decision maker and not to the professor or to the class
  • Expresses what is contained in the attached proposal and does NOT suggest what “will be written” or “will be researched” at a later date
  • Uses appropriate spelling, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and mechanics
  • Reflects positive tone

For this benchmark, you will design a four-lesson curriculum unit and an end-of-unit event plan for wellness week that comprehensively covers health, safety, nutrition, and fitness for the Birth to Age 8/Grade 3 age group that you hope to teach in the future, or the age group in which you spent the most practicum hours.

Use the format of one of the “Lesson Plan Templates”Blank SIOP the one I submitt as a resource and include the following for each of the four lesson plans:

  1. Clear, measurable learning objectives that align to early learning standards (ELS) as well as your state’s subject standards;
  2. Anticipatory set;
  3. Vocabulary;
  4. Relevant materials and resources including visual or audio resources;
  5. Differentiation of instruction to address the diverse needs of students; and
  6. Assessments.

Next, design a 100-250 word culminating end-of-unit event plan for families. Include information about the following:

  1. Health and safety issues to be addressed;
  2. Nutritional food that will be served;
  3. Physical activities that will take place; and
  4. Ways families can share multiple perspectives on health, safety, nutrition, or physical activities relevant to their child, their family, their community, or their culture. Include a unique way to incorporate these perspectives into the event.

Post-traumatic stress disorder has often been cited as the clearest indication that the stress condition causes disease. Identify three (3) other health problems cited in the literature that are linked to stress, and for each prepare a 1-paragraph description of the evidence supporting this contention. Then provide a 1-paragraph assessment as to whether you agree or disagree with the strength of the linkage between stress and the diseases cited.
